RENT Film & Medicine Community Engagement Event
Thank you to our medical student Vocal Cords group performed music from the movie, RENT, before the film screening started.
After the movie, we facilitated an informative panel discussion on prevention and treatment with community advocate representatives from Southwest HIV/AIDS, Aunt Rita’s, Terros Health along with health experts Dr. Vanig (Spectrum Medical Group) and Dr. Curole (Dignity Family Medicine). Thank you to all of our panelists and community members in attendance!
NMHH Book Club - Ask Me Why I Hurt

We started the book club with an opportunity for our readers to suggest the themes they were most excited to discuss through Poll Everywhere - an app that allows participants to respond to potential questions in real time. We used the app to set up a virtual forum to collect prompts and themes suggested by our participants as the discussion wore on. We met on campus to discuss, but also offered the option for individuals to join remotely via Zoom in anticipation of Dr. Randy Christensen (author of Ask Me Why I Hurt)'s video conference with the group at 12:30. With the author's arrival, we were able to transform a list of 15 words into a successful analysis and Q&A session with Dr. Christensen!
